 Devon Hardin was born in Long Beach, California. Devon Hardin is an American college basketball player. Devon Hardin declared for the 2007 NBA Draft, but withdrew his name shortly before the event. The following year Devon Hardin was selected 50th overall in the 2008 NBA Draft by the Seattle Supersonics.

Devon Hardin only played the first 11 games California Golden Bears. At their game against Furman, Devon Hardin suffers a stress fracture to his left mid-foot. Devon Hardin did not play throughout the entire season, but still, Devon Hardin still holds the California Golden Bears highest block shots with 21 blocks. Devon Hardin averaged 10.7 ppg and 8.4 rpg - both career highs - before the injury. Devon Hardin was named to the all-tournament team at the Great Alaska Shootout after finishing with 16 points, nine rebounds and four blocks vs. Loyola Marymount in the championship game. Devon Hardin led California Golden Bears in rebounding 11 times (includes ties). Devon Hardin also finished the Northeastern game with a personal-best 14 rebounds. As a Freshman at the California Golden Bears, Devon Hardin ranked third on the team in rebounding with 4.5 per game while playing only 16.1 minutes per contest. With a record of 26 blocked shots on the year, second on the team and ninth in the Pac-10 (0.90 per game). Devon Hardin blocks four shots vs. Fairleigh Dickinson and also reached double digits at San Diego State Dec. 11, finishing with 11 points and five boards and earning MVP honors for the San Diego SLAM.

As a senior at Newark Memorial HS, Devon Hardin averaged 12.9 points, 11.4 rebounds and 4.4 blocks. Devon Hardin also earned first team All-ANG Newspapers and All- Bay Area from the San Francisco Chronicle. Devon Hardin led his team to a 29-5 record and the NorCal semifinals of the state tournament. Devon Hardin was the No. 29 power forward in the country by Rivals.com, No. 64 player overall by Hoop Scoop and No. 3 power forward on the West Coast by TheInsiders.com. Devon Hardin recorded the first triple-double in his school's history with 25 points, 17 rebounds and 14 blocks in one game.
