OKC Thunder waives former OSU guard

The Oklahoma City Thunder waived reserve guard John Lucas III.

Thunder General Manager Sam Presti announced the move Monday. Lucas averaged 5.0 points and 2.7 assists in three preseason games but had been inactive for Oklahoma City's first three regular-season contests.

The 5-foot-11 Lucas appeared in 60 regular-season games during the 2005-06 and 2006-07 seasons with the Houston Rockets, averaging 3.1 points. The former Oklahoma State standout did not play in the NBA last season.

The Thunder now has 14 players on its roster.
